“We couldn’t be happier with our decision to Solarize,” reported David and Elizabeth Eddy who are recent participants in Solarize Coventry, and who will now receive additional savings on their solar system through the Tier 4 discounts available from Encon Solar.

The Town of Coventry, along with Bridgeport, Canton and a coalition of Mansfield and Windham, has been selected through a competitive process to participate in Solarize Connecticut, a State-sponsored program through the Connecticut Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority that combines coordinated town education and outreach efforts with a tiered pricing offer from a pre-selected installer to significantly increase residential solar. The more residents that participate in the program, the more the price drops, with all residents receiving the lowest possible price for their installation no matter when they sign up for the program.  However, residents must sign a contract by July 12, 2013 to qualify.   In Phase 1 of Solarize Connecticut, participating towns more than doubled the amount of solar during the 20-week program than had been purchased over the previous 7 years and all four towns hit Tier 5 pricing.  Coventry is hoping for equally positive results.

Encon Solar is the designated and competitively selected solar installer for the Town of Coventry, chosen for their quality reputation, customer reviews and, most importantly, competitive tiered pricing.   Encon Solar and the Town of Coventry have been hosting Solarize workshops to explain how the program works and the benefits of solar PV along with a solar open house.  Interest from local residents has been strong and many residents have requested site visits to determine if they can participate in this discount solar offering.
