Meeting Tuesday for Hebron solar campaign

Date: April 15, 2016

HEBRON — Local homeowners may learn about acquiring solar energy in a program supported by Connecticut Green Bank.

The Solarize Connecticut campaign will host an informational workshop at Douglas Library, 22 Main St., from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19.

Hebron signed on to become a Solarize community in March, bringing solar energy opportunities to the community. The Board of Selectmen approved the Green Committee’s recommendation for Earthlight Technologies of Ellington as the town’s solar installer.

The workshop will give homeowners information about the environmental benefits and savings that result from using solar panels.

Solarize Connecticut serves over 2,000 residents in 58 communities, including North Haven, Fairfield, Wilton, and Harwinton.

Its services include prescreening certified solar installers, free site assessments, and $0 down financing options.
