Solar Open House set in Barkhamsted

Date: April 10, 2016

Residents can celebrate Earth Day by learning about how to harness the clean energy of the sun. As part of the Solarize Barkhamsted initiative, Barkhamsted solar homeowner Storm Connors is opening his home to neighbors who want to learn more about how to take control of their home’s energy costs while reducing their impact on the environment during an open house Saturday, April 23, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

The public is invited to experience firsthand what it is like to have a solar PV system and learn about the discounted pricing and state and federal incentives offered through the Solarize Barkhamsted program.

A solar workshop will also take place on Tuesday, April 19 from 7–8:30 p.m. at the Barkhamsted Town Garage, 33 New Hartford Rd (Rt 44) in Barkhamsted.

C-TEC Solar, the installer chosen by the town, will give a presentation about the Solarize program, including how to finance a solar installation.

The home of Storm Connors is located at 202 Center Hill Rd., Barkhamsted.
