“The Town of Canton Energy Committee is pleased to provide a second opportunity for Canton homeowners to participate in the Solarize Program.  Canton was one of the previous towns in this valuable program, having participated in the second round of this program in 2012.   We encourage homeowners to consider joining this important renewal energy source.”

-Town of Canton Energy Committee Chair Robert Namnoun

“I am pleased that the Board of Selectmen approved the Energy Committee’s recommendation, and I appreciate the Committee’s efforts in supporting Solarize Canton.  As we continue to pursue greater energy efficiency in Town-owned facilities, I hope that interested residents will learn more about this opportunity for their own homes.”

– Canton First Selectman Leslee Hill

What Your Canton Neighbors are Saying about their Solar

“I installed the photovoltaic system on my house 10 years ago. The cost at the time I installed it was nearly three time the cost of similar systems today, but the substantially higher incentives still made it a worthwhile investment (though not as attractive as what is presently available). The system was installed in just a few days by a very professional team and the contractor took care of all paperwork required by the Utility for the interconnection and the State for incentives. The system was started up and performed flawlessly with no required maintenance for nine years. Last year there was a problem with the inverter and I called the installer to report it. They sent a technician out to diagnose the problem, a replacement part was ordered and the technician made a second trip out to install it. The system was put back into service and there was no cost to me, I was amazed that this would be the case after nine years of operation. I have been very pleased with my PV system, it covers about two thirds of my annual electrical cost and my only regret is that I wasn’t able to install a larger system due to the available space on my roof.”
